Our Story
Our founder, Jordan, has been on a path that has been anything but linear - from an early interest in math and computer engineering to earning a degree in Nutrition Science, before discovering her true calling in the creative world. After graduating from N.C. State in 2013 and unsure of her next steps, she returned to her hometown of Charlotte and began working at a local cold-pressed juice company. It was there that she took charge of the company's social media, sparking a passion that would shape her future.

In late 2016, Jordan went out and purchased her first DSLR camera and taught herself photography with a determination to create stunning visuals. Her work quickly caught the eye of a local branding agency, leading to her first freelance photography gig. Soon, other local businesses became drawn to Jordan's work and hired her to manage their social media accounts. As word spread, she found herself collaborating with dozens of various organizations on anything from content creation and photography to email marketing and graphic design.

Ginger Root Creative Co. draws inspiration from the principles of slow living and cherished family traditions. Our name honors Jordan's late grandmother, Ginger, whose spirit and deeply held values - hard work, sincerity, selflessness, and simplicity - continue to be our guiding light. When Ginger passed away in late 2015, Jordan's father described his mom as "rooted" in the eulogy, signifying a profound connection with the earth and life. This sentiment resonated with Jordan, and when she launched her business in January 2020, the name Ginger Root came naturally.
